Why is Cultured Marble type Products so easy to clean ?

It is because of the clear nonporous Gel Coated surface.

The surface is smooth without pores similar to the clear coat finish on cars, but more Durable.

You can apply polish to the Gel-Coated surface to protect and repel water spotting from minerals in the water and

wax in bar soap.

CLEANING and MAINTENANCE.

Before applying any polish or wax to the surface, make sure the surface has been cleaned thoroughly. If any

scrubbing is necessary due to mineral or wax build up, you can use any Teflon® approved scrubbing product

including the orange S.O.S.® Tuffy Nylon Scouring Pad that is very good and recommended. DRY or allow

to dry the surface of the  Cultured Marble Type Products before waxing or polishing. Follow the instructions for

the wax or polish your using for maximum protection and to reduce the frequency of the applications.

Gel-Gloss® liquid or spray is one of the recommended products to use. It is made for the Gel-Coated

surface and protects the surface very well. However there are a lot of products available and being developed that

may be just as good or perhaps better depending on the water quality in your area.

Please  avoid pigmented polishes or waxes as they may stain the silicone sealant applied in the corners where the

panels meet. Stay with white or clear waxes and polishes to avoid staining the silicone.

RULE OF THUMB, IF YOU SEE ANY WATER TRYING TO STICK TO THE WALLS AND NOT RUNNING DOWN THE

WALL TOWARD THE DRAIN, IT IS TIME TO REAPPLY WAX OR POLISH.
     
Liquid or spray on cleaners are all that is required for regular maintenance between polishing. (Caution) polish

is not necessary where you stand, it could become very slippery.

Rinse very well after polishing walls.
 
Please don't use abrasive cleaners because they will scratch and dull the polished surface giving water

spotting and soap wax a place to hang onto.

Ideally if you squeegee and dry off the surface, your tub or shower will look like it is in showroom condition

all the time. Because the Cultured Marble type products are manufactured and installed in large panels with

minimum seams, using a squeegee is fast and easy.
